On Thurs 7 May a serious fire took place at the Riverwood housing complex on Hamber Place. The fire left 26 families displaced and about half of those without any of their personal items.
Three young MSLL players were affected by the fire. On Friday a group of MSLL parents stepped up to organize replacement baseball equipment so each of these players could play baseball again as soon as possible. Timeout Source for Sports very generously agreed to provide items for these players at cost prices. Donations were quickly raised from the players’ teams and MSLL provided replacement pants, ball bags, jerseys and caps. I am happy to say that all three players were able to play their games on Saturday.
