Playing on a post season team is a great reward and honour for the kids who have put in a lots of time and effort during the season, but it does come with some requirements. All kids selected to the team must commit to attending every game unless there is an injury or illness. The team will start by playing in the District tournament, the winner of Districts advances to Provincials. If the team were to win the Provincials they would advance to the National Championship in Ottawa. The winner of the Canadian Nationals goes to the Little League World Series at Williamsport in August. All kids are expected to make themselves available for every tournament if the team advances. Selected players must also commit to attending all team practices leading up to and during the tournaments.
**All players MUST be available to play in the District 5 Tournament (Jun 27th – July 14th) and are expected to make themselves available for all other tournaments if the team advances beyond the Districts. If you are able to play Districts but will have difficulty attending other tournaments, please contact Coach Chris Thulin to discuss your availability restrictions.
Parents will be asked to attend the first 15-30 minutes of the tryout as the coaches and members of the MSLL Executive will provide an overview of what to expect if your child is selected for the Majors All Star team.
*** A second tryout will be held time/date TBA. Players will be notified via email if they are selected to attend the second tryout.
Eligible Players
Players who wish to tryout out for the Majors All Stars team must be:
- baseball age 12 ( May 1, 2002 – April 30, 2003) or baseball age 11 ( May 1, 2003 – April 30, 2004)
- have played on an MSLL Majors division team this season
- have participated in a minimum of 60% of their regular/playoff season games
- parents must be willing to sign the MSLL Post Season Protocol agreeing to post season expectations
Tournament Dates:
- District 5 Tournament: June 27th – July 14th, Chris Zuehlke Park, North Vancouver
- Provincial Tournament: July 17th – July 26th, Joan and Phil Lake Diamond, South Vancouver
- Canadian National Tournament: August 7th – August 16th, Ottawa
- Little League World Series: August 20th – 30th, Williamsport, PA
