Each year we get lots of questions about which teams a player may tryout for, and the differences between the various Post Season teams and Summer Ball. It does get a little bit complicated as the Post Season teams are all about baseball age and less dependent on our regular season divisions. Post season teams require more commitment, are more focused on winning and players will not receive equal playing time. Our Summer Ball teams are more like our regular season teams only with larger roster sizes to allow for summer vacations. Summer Ball is organized across the whole of District 5, so players will get to play other leagues and visit other parks. The ages for D5 Summer Ball are actually based on next season’s age (a weird tradition in baseball) – however the general rule of thumb is that Summer Ball 7/8s is for current Rookie Seniors, Summer Ball 9/10s is for current AA and Summer Ball 11/12s is for current AAA & Majors players.

What Are Availability Requirements?
Little League All Star tournaments required that all players on the roster be present at all games. Therefore if your player is selected for one of the sanctioned teams (Seniors, Juniors, Majors, 9/10s) they must be able to attend all games in the initial tournament. If the team advances to the next round, players are expected to make themselves available – however it is possible for a player to be replaced on the roster between tournaments. If you know your player will not be able to continue should the team advance, please notify the Head Coach prior to the team tryouts. For 11s, 8/9s, Super 8s tournaments a high level of commitment is also expected. If you are not able to attend all the tournaments listed on the website, please notify the Head Coach prior to the tryouts.
Summer Ball runs throughout July and August. The teams will be formed with bigger roster sizes to allow for family vacations.
