With the new ball season less than a month away, it’s time to organize our annual field prep. day. Here are the details…
Date: Saturday, April 2nd 10am
Locations: Myrtle Park concession, Myrtle Park Majors, Rookie Jr., and Rookie Sr. diamonds, Seycove School diamond and Blueridge Park diamond
Work Required
Myrtle Park Concession
- kitchen needs general cleaning and tidying
 - tools: cleaning supplies, cloths
 
Myrtle Majors Diamond (AAA and Majors)
- DNV has got the field in good shape
 - dugouts need sweeping and power washing (if available)
 - bleachers need a lot of weeding and general clean-up
 - score booth needs a general cleaning
 - storage under score booth needs tidying and reorganizing
 - bullpen needs major weeding and raking
 - outfield fence needs to be installed (quite labour intensive)
 - tools: hoes, rakes, trimming shears, brooms
 
Seycove School Diamond (AA and AAA)
- field needs major weeding, raking, filling and trimming
 - dugouts need sweeping
 - base plugs need to be uncovered
 - bleachers need a lot of weeding and general clean-up
 - brambles behind diamond need some cutting back
 - tools: hoes, rakes, trimming shears, brooms, shovels, grass trimmer, wheelbarrow
 
Blueridge Diamond (AA)
- DNV has got the field in good shape
 - dugouts need sweeping
 - base plugs need to be uncovered
 - bleachers need weeding and general clean-up
 - tools: hoes, rakes, brooms, wheelbarrow
 
Myrtle Rookie Jr. and Rookie Sr. Diamonds
- fields need general raking, weeding and filling
 - base plugs need to be uncovered
 - bleachers need weeding and general clean-up
 - tools: hoes, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrow
 
Please bring whichever tools you can. Labeling your tools is recommended. Comfortable work clothes and gloves are also recommended. This is a rain or shine event.
