The concession in Myrtle Park is run by MSLL on a purely volunteer basis. This season we do not have a full time concession manager, but instead a group of Moms that have volunteered to run in together. This group will ensure that the shopping is done each week to stock the concession, make all the mystery bags as well as open and close at the start and end of each shift.

The operation of the concession is done by the teams from Rally Caps through to Majors. Each team has either 2 or 3 assigned shifts depending on division. Each shift lasts 3 hours. The concession MUST be staffed by 2 people at a time – as our food safe requires that one person handles food while the other handles money. It is recommended to split the shift into 1.5 hours – in this case you will need a total of 4 volunteers to cover the whole shift. Note: we also can’t have anyone in the concession under the age of 13 due to our insurance policy – so please do not bring your kids with you when working a shift.

If you can’t get enough volunteers, the team has the option to “buy out” a shift. This costs $50 per date and the money is used to pay teenagers to work in the concession instead. If you would like to take this option please email concession@msll.ca and you MUST provide one week’s notice.

Please ensure that your team takes responsibility for your concession shift. Simply not turning up, or sending one person for the entire time is not fair. If teams do not either provide volunteers or buy out their shifts then we will have no choice but to close the concession – leaving our kids very disappointed.
